A historical solution of bulk material handling

Dilute phase pneumatic conveying

Rotary valves and airlocks are available in a multitude of models, with a wide variety of accessories to cover all applications in various industrial fields.

The simplest version of the rotary valve is that used for the operations of loading-unloading of materials by gravity, for example from the silos, hoppers or from a chain conveyor, screw feeder, etc..
In many applications where there is the presence of air under pressure, however a more sophisticated and precise construction is necessary.

In this case, Rosada ILS sizes and provides valves with a pressure tightness suitable to compensate for the effects of air leakage resulting therefrom, with very tight tolerances, clearances even less than 0.1 mm.

Airlock pneumatic conveying

The rotary valves may also be used where it is necessary to limit the discharge of material, for example because destined for a dosage system. Themselves, in certain system conditions where a very coarse precision it is sufficient in comparison to a micro doser, can be used to dose materials.

A typical application where Rosada ILS frequently adopts rotary valves, is the dilute phase pneumatic conveying. We propose valves with the quality of construction suitable for several performances of flow rate, tightness, wear etc. , depending on the selected conveying parameters.

Of course you must also take account of plant engineering function. As already mentioned, a rotary valve unloading from a silo is very different from a machine for dilute phase pneumatic conveying. Crucial, too, are the product temperature, abrasiveness and moisture as well as the relative humidity, in respect of which you need to pay attention primarily depending of construction materials and surface finishes of body and rotor, but often also to select the optimal size of the valve itself. Finally, not less important is the workplace and risk situations. Rosada ILS proposes rotary valves and airlocks able to operate in ATEX environment. Also provides special models for pharmaceutical and food industries duty, with specific certifications for use, fast extractable rotors and accessories that allow quick disassembly and cleaning of the entire equipment.

Blowing of the shaft seals, fluidization of the compartments of the closed rotor, the choice of the command group, rev counter and temperature sensors, adjustable and interchangeable rotor blades, surface treatment of polishing, chrome plating, hardening, special rotors, are other accessories that complete the wide range of rotary valves proposed by Rosada ILS.

Dilute pneumatic conveying with rotary valves

Frequently there is a need of having to download material from one environment to another having different pressure. This means that the rotary valve must be able to limit the air leakage toward the lower pressure region through the mechanical clearance, causing a loss of performance such as a flow rate reduction, in addition to undesirable effects in the process. This happens in several cases, but mostly with pneumatic pressure or suction conveying.

To avoid that the rotary valves inhibit the discharge of material or act as unwanted vacuum breakers, it is therefore necessary to know which are the conditions of air leakage that they are able to guarantee.

In designing a pneumatic conveying, Rosada ILS choose partners by solid experience and performing rotocells, of which have all the available laboratory parameters necessary for the correct dimensioning of the process, in order to ensure the required performance and a high degree of reliability and regular intervals for maintenance and adjustment.
